Toasted Rolled Oats with Nuts and Sultanas


Description:
It's a healthy start in the morning. Nothing fancy but packed with all the good things.

This may help those who have a problem with the irregular bowel movement. ;p

This is also the submission for MFM #11 - Nuts and Beans which is hosted by Sulis .

Ingredients:
360 g rolled oats, Home Brand
60 g almonds, Ducks, flaked
60 g Californian walnuts, Lucky, chopped coarsely
60 g pecans, chopped coarsely
20 g white sesame seeds, Hoyts

0.25 tsp cinnamon powder
1 Tbsp Australian honey, Cloverdale

100 g sultanas, Sunbeam, natural


Directions:
1. Put oats, nuts and seeds in a big wok. Dry wok toasted on medium low heat. Adjust the heat if it is too low or too high. Stir every few minutes.
2. Add cinnamon after toasting them for 15 minutes.
3. Add honey by drizzling it over the muesli. Stir for another 5 minutes. The colour of the oats and flaked almonds is very light brown.
4. Line the baking sheet with baking paper (it helps to transfer the muesli to the container) and put the muesli mix on it, spread and cool
5. Add sultana and mix. Keep in an air tight container.

Serving suggestions:
1. Take about 60 g of muesli and serve with 150 g of your choice of yoghurt. My favourite is Nestle All Natural yoghurt.
2. Serve with milk and sliced bananas
3. Topping for your ice cream

Alternatives:
You can also use other nuts, seeds and dried fruits such as hazelnuts, raisins, sunflower seeds, dried apple, dried apricot, dried mango, dried papaya, dried pineapple, macadamia, peanut, black sesame seeds, dried cranberries, dried cherries, cashew nuts, dried peach, dried banana, rice puff etc...

  6. kacang2an nya kalo di sini.. mahal banget euy.. :) Padahal keliatannya enak banget & sehat sekali ya..

  7. di sini jg gak murah2 banget sih karena ada yg import jg. apalagi skg australia jg lagi kering air, jadinya harga pun dibuat ikutan naik sama yg punya toko.

    itung2 buat makan kacang2an kan kaya akan mineral dan daripada dibuat kue alhasil jadi makan lemak dan gula yg banyak.

  13. gak buat topping doang koq. bisa sbg cereal buat makan pagi dan dimakannya dgn susu atau yoghurt. :D ada jg yg pake fruit juice.

  17. Reg, kalo ngak mau pake madu pake apa yah? Maple syrop? Biasanya gw ngak bikin..beli yg udah jadi di supermarket...but liat resepmu jadi kepengen bikin juga...

  18. mestinya sih bisa juga, cuma ntar baunya beda. aku tambahin madunya cuma buat bau2an doang koq, gak banyak2. kalo kebanyakan ntar malah lengket, malah jadi muesli bar. dgn bikin sendiri bisa milih isinya mau apa aja :D

  25. aku jg suka skip b'fast cuma kalo dah kelaparan, ngembat toast aja di kantor. ceritanya ni muesli biar hubby bisa turun berat badannya. kan katanya mesti makan teratur dan b'fast membantu jg. :D

  26. speaking about diet, suami juga minta dikurangin makan makanan indonesia katanya dia tambah gendut.. lah nyalahin bininya padahal dia nggak mau masak trus nggak mau olah raga, skip breakfast dan some times skip his lunch too... kalo gini siapa yang salah ya? :-)

  27. ekkekek emang sih makanan indonesia rata2 kaya karbohidrat (GI tinggi) dan lemak. tapi mestinya bisa kali ya dipilihin spy lebih byk sayur dan sedikit minyaknya. kokinya mesti kreatif nih ;-)

    suamiku sih cuma minta porsi kecil aja sekarang. sebisa mungkin sayurannya aku banyakin sih. dia sih makan siang dan makan malam gak skip. cuma b'fast aja yg suka skip tapi sih sekarang dia bawa muesli dan yoghurt (ini pun milih yg gulanya dikit. kalo gak bergula keasaman). gak tahu deh, bisa turun apa kagak bobotnya heheheh
