Ingredients:
125 g butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup self raising flour
1 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
11/2 tsp cinnamon
a pinch of salt
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar
Add egg and beat well
Add vanilla and then slowly mix in the other ingredients
Pour mixture into a slice tine and bake in a moderate oven for 15 to 20 minutes
When cold, ice with lemon icing and sprinkle with walnuts over the top
